ok, well after my last post on the issue, Erin from Design Crisis said her paint guru Sanders told her peach is impossible to get right, and even she gave up on it after 20 swatches. so I'm thinking...Erin can make anything work and if she doesn't wanna touch peach then i'm going to have to give up the peach dream....but i'm also outrageously stubborn... i went back to look for more colors and i think i found the one.
guess which one i picked...
top row, from left: pantone "nude", valspar: "fair peach", "homstead resort cream", "tangerine dream", "apricot haze"
bottom row, from left: "french cream", "subtle suede", "peach gala", and "peach kiss"
this is why you swatch people. in the store, on little sample cards, these all looked kinda the same. this is my method for choosing the best color. ideally, have someone else paint the swatches on the wall, then you walk in (in good light) and give yourself 10 seconds to chose one. your first instincts are usually right. i have horrible memory so i can just walk in the kitchen to get a drink then walk back in and point.
i chose "tangerine dream" the fourth one on the top row. the one right below it, "peach kiss" is my second fav, but "tangerine dream" is more subtle and less peachy.
i really think this is the one.
so....i'm like 99.9% sure i'll be painting the office this weekend. i've also got possibly one of my favoritest diys ever in the works, just needs to be installed... so we'll see if i can squeeze them both in on top of everything else going on.
