But anyway, the flooring is done, never mind that we don't have any baseboard moldings up yet.
First project (after baseboards) is my little girl Mila's room. I asked her what color she wanted and she said purple.
Of course she picked purple.
Sorry purple-lovers, but I generally hate purple.
Whatever, challenge accepted.
I'm thinking Olympic's 'Laughing Lilac' which might read a little blue, but is definitely purple, trust me.
With a little something like this:
These guys I found on eBay will be there (they're big):
As for the living room, we have a massive wall in a big open room that I need to fill. I'm redoing the zodiac constellation gallery, but this time much, much bigger. I'm adding more prints, and having them printed larger. There were 12 pieces before, each about 16 x 20"...This time I'm sizing up to 20 x 30" prints, and possibly doubling the size of the gallery to 24 prints. This mother is going to be huge. People are going to freak out. Maybe I'll be the only one freaking out, but freak outs will happen.
I'll be sharing more plans next post. They involve a built-in bar and the color mauve.

Loving those big gold deer! Great find. I can't wait to see everything. And don't worry, I'll be freaking out with you over that gallery wall, in a good way of course!
ReplyDeleteYay for progress! We're in the middle of the packing right now, but hopefully painting this weekend...hopefully being KEY. I'm doing G's room with that same periwinkle blue, and I love it! I didn't know you had a babe!?
ReplyDeleteYES I love the lilac with the big brass deers. So ethereal and whimsical and she'll love it for eternity.
ReplyDeleteI think the huge prints will be amazing.....and the more the merrier....love it....and you can do wonders...so purple will be ok....can't wait to see those deer in place
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this space will be amazing! Purple included. I just dyed come curtains on my blog that were supposed to be blue and ended up purple! I feel you sister. Seeing if I can make them work!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the constellation gallery install in your new space. As overwhelming as having an entire house to renovate/decorate is, I know you must feel good to finally have those boxes with all that shit- your own shit!- finally unpacked again. I bet it feels a bit like Christmas to see it all over again.
ReplyDeleteI know that Mila's space will be absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see : ) So happy for you and your new home!
ReplyDeleteSo far, so awesome. Can't wait! On a completely different note, I cannot keep a fiddle leaf fig alive, not to mention they are expensive! Any tips??

Oh my God so many boxes! I know the feeling, I've been through this three years ago, but I believe that in a week you'll be done with this!

Gah! I hate purple too! I can't even explain what it is. I just have this aversion to it. However, I am very much liking what you have come up with! Looks fantastic!

Love your ideas! Those deer would be awesome in a little girls room!
ReplyDeleteBog happenings going on in your life! Congrats!!!! And that purple is working out nicely ;)
ReplyDeleteonce you burn all that paper in your shrine to purple please find me some giant brass kittens on ebay.
ReplyDeletethanks.
your plan is not going to make me freak out, it's going to make me hi 5 you.
I'm already in love.... those brass deer are too fab. And I didn't know you had a daughter!
ReplyDeleteLady I have been there with the crying forest of packing paper. The garbage people hate us.
ReplyDeleteLove your kid plans, and the zodiac rules.
why don't you go ahead and send me your smaller zodiac prints......?!?! :)
ReplyDeletecannot wait to see the end results. LOL at the movers. My friend is in the navy and when she moved back here they too did some goofy stuff like wrapping stuff that wasn't scratable or breakable.
ReplyDeleteI love where you are going with this. And at least she didn't pick pink AND purple...like my daughter is begging for.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i think you should auction off your current zodiac set! maybe to a longtime reader who never comments, mmm?
ReplyDeleteI like your blue-purple shade rather than straight on purple--so serene and sophisticated! The constellation prints are to die for too!
