Bad news: it looks like this:
Arizona people problems: The office has TWO of these fans (it's a long office.) They are ugly, but necessary in the summer. I think they might have to go anyway.
This needs to be covered with a huge piece of art.
Master bedroom. I don't know what I'm going to do with those plant ledges. Are they made for anything other than fake plants and tchotchkes?
The rest of the house is basically just more of the same. We're painting this weekend and then getting some of this sexual chocolate installed...
I know that glossy dark floors will show EVERYTHING, but I don't care. I love them too much.
Because empty houses are boring, these will be the last pics before all of our crap gets delivered and we can actually move in.
In the meantime, I will be taking plant shelf decorating suggestions. The other bedrooms have them too :/
Edit: I forgot pictures of the kitchen/family room:
That peninsula's getting the sledgehammer very soon.

This is amazing. Can't wait to see what you do to
ReplyDeleteIt. I'm jealous!
I am so happy for you, Jessica! I know that you will come up with some crazy amazeballs ideas that will be incredible! What about one of hose ledges housing books? Just a thought.. Lol
ReplyDelete"Those" not hose
DeleteOh my! So exciting! Can't wait to see what's next :)
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! Can't wait to see how you transform it full of your goodness! And as for those ledges in the master, I totally picture big baskets. As big as you can fit to fill up the space and then keep your extra linens or out of season clothes or suitcases in them!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be GREAT! The fun is in the process, and I really can't wait to see how it all goes!

Very exciting news Jessica! Congrats! Look at all that space... I can't wait to see what you do with it. Plant ledges and armoire tops... 'tis a quandary. I'm still scratching my head at the latter. Perhaps this is a post topic in and of itself?
ReplyDeleteWell on the bright side the floor plan is awesome! I am sure it will have us all green when you are done!
ReplyDeleteps. What the hell did the previous owners do to the poor carpet??
can't wait to see what you do with it!! will have to ponder the cubby issue....
ReplyDeletecongrats on the new home!
ReplyDeleteMy only suggestion for the plant ledges - other putting crap on them - would be to paint them a fun, bright color and just leave them open. I've never experimented with them but it could be kinda cool

Congrats on buying a house! I am loving those high ceiling over your kitchen cabinets. Looking at the picture, it makes me think you should put in some really gorgeous open shelving all the way to the ceiling and get one of those awesome library ladders on rollers! I've always wanted one of those!
ReplyDeleteoh wow! The things I could do here!! What a beautiful space - it has fabulous bones. Congratulations lady :)
ReplyDeleteIn terms of the plant ledges, those things drive me bananas. I'd fill em in (drywall is my bff)
xx
Oh gawd! Paint swatches! You're killing me! Ha! I just know you're going to do wonders on this home! And, even more, I can't wait to see it all documented here! Congrats on the new home!

ReplyDeleteThere is nothing I love more than an empty house - endless possibilites! You are gonna rock it I know girl!
ReplyDeleteCan you hear this? YEAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! So, so, excited for you!! OMG you must be over the moon. So Big and so important. Well...you pretty much have blogging material for more than a year :) The ceilings are really high....super...and I spy a playground right around the corner....extra bonus. Fans....yes please take them away...in Dallas ALL homes have them because it gets so hot in the summer....but guess what that is what A/C is for...no need. I took them out and never needed them....You are going to turn it into Gold!
ReplyDeleteYayyyy congrats! What a great way to start the new year! Can't wait to read your posts on your decor, which I know will be fab!
ReplyDeleteLove the house and your floor pick. I totally agree with Rebecca- built in shelves with library ladder. congrats!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... you weren't kidding. WOW. Cannot stand a fake plant plant ledge... awful. However... let the games begin, cause this pad gonna be SICK when your finished with it. Cannot wait.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!

Wow great space!!! I'm sure you're so excited :)
ReplyDeleteI mean I'm always excited when I move because it's always an exciting interior design project!
Congratulations for your new home sweet home!
Woohoo congrats!! I can't wait to see what you do with the place! Home Depot has much better looking fans that aren't that expensive at all. Good luck with that plant ledge- as a real estate agent those have always confused me.
ReplyDeleteCongrats....cant wait to see the transformation....Great start to a new year....
ReplyDeleteThose ledges scream out for something sculptural but just one thing per ledge. Have you considered treating the wall in the ledge nook as a place for art and ignoring the flat horizontal surface?
ReplyDeleteYour new house has some serious potential! Can't wait to watch the remodel! Good luck!

Congratulations!!! I would be so so so excited!! You could do back-lit screens on those ledges.... something geometric and sculptural that comes even with the wall, maybe... I see all sorts of stuff in my head!
ReplyDeleteMuch Love,
Trissta
First off congrats lady. I know it was a long process. I think your home has wonderful bones. And i like the little plant ledges. I see them when I tour parade of homes. You can get creative when they're in kids rooms. Otherwise the only thing I have ever seen was vases. I know....very basic lol
ReplyDeleteOh i also saw ledges used for leaning art. Baskets.
ReplyDeleteAll I can think is how freaking awesome it's going to be. But seriously, are the walls as dirty in person as they look in the pictures? what the hell?
ReplyDeleteBlank canvas - love it! So excited to see what you create!
ReplyDeletexo Sara
totally missed this. so excited for you!!
