Guest Post: Art to Room with Albertina from Mimosa Lane

For every over-hyped design blog out there, there's at least one seriously good design blog that deserves a lot more attention. Mimosa Lane is one of those. Its run by two super-chic, well-traveled, sweet ladies with impeccable taste- Albertina and Julie. This blog is definitely one to watch! I'll let Albertina give you a little taste of why Mimosa Lane is one of my faves...

I'm Albertina, from Mimosa Lane. I'm so happy to be guest blogging here for Jessica to give her a little break so she can finish up packing or unpacking.  Here is a room inspired by this beautiful Brad Eberhard painting.  I loved all the beautiful colors and thought we could have fun with the fabrics.  What do you think? do you like all the color? too much? just right? I guess usually one picks out furniture first and then finds a painting that works with the space.  But the beauty of doing it the other way around is you may end up with something unexpected- maybe you use some color combinations that you would not have thought of otherwise.

{painting / sofa / lamp / purple pillow / leopard pillow / elephant table / rug / chair}
 Thanks Jessica for having me.  Texas will miss you!

  4. I'm totally one of those who puts the horse before the cart and selects furniture first. I think it's safer to consider art and accessories as dispensable- we can switch it out or move it to another room when we need a change. I completely agree that designing a room around a bold painting would promote some risks that might not otherwise be taken. Really like this idea!
