Love black and white checkerboard floors. They're classic and bold. But unless you're Dorothy Draper, I would strongly caution against not laying them diagonally and using them with red. Generally speaking, checkerboard + red = fifties diner.
That last shot is INSANE!!! What a fabulous statement poolside when you're reveling in the lap of luxury! That's what I'd imagine vacations to look and feel like...so glamorous!
I love checkerboard now. it was one of those things I hated seeing growing up. but as I've evolved *ahem* *clears throat* and aged, it's something I've come to love. I however DO like them diagonal.
lovely photos. I was watching an International House Hunters and they were in London and the girl was like oh my look at that checker floor, it so screams Diner, and I was like NOOOOOOO!
Speaking of KW, I recognize the fabric on those chair backs as the same material she has on the walls in her (probably one of many) guest bedroom! Love it so much!
beautiful! I feel they are hard to pull off because they are so elegant...My favorite is the first photo...I love the choice of furniture here

I would gladly check myself if I could have some pink curtains to go along with it.
