Sorry for the absence this weekend. I've been dealing with a cold that probably feels a lot worse than it is...Anyways, as I've said before, I've never been a really huge fan of purple. I don't know why, its just a color I've always steered away from using. Just looked around my house and couldn't find anything purple that doesn't belong to my daughter! Looking at the above pictures makes me want to change that. For my 2-year-old daughter's room, I'm planning to go dove-grey and white on the walls, so I think its the perfect place to incorporate a little lavender in my home. (And what little girl doesn't appreciate purple?)
How do feel about purple/plum/eggplant/lavender/violet? Have you used it in your decor?
*Update! As soon as I posted this, I wandered over to peruse Kim Davies' shop on etsy, Inspired Lines, and found
this print. Its purple and perfect! Of course I snatched it up...*
That print pulls purple in perfectly subtly. Purple can be a pretty dominate color, but I've seen it done tastefully here and there. I like that last image the best!
ReplyDeleteDeep purples certainly give the space a glamorous feel. I love the plum colored furniture : )
ReplyDeleteI have always steered away from purple too. I love it in those spaces you show above. I love the fourth picture where the painting has a resemblance to peacock feathers.
ReplyDeleteBtw...hope you feel better. It's no fun having a cold. Have a restful day.
I actually LOVE purple in homes. It's very rich and regal in my opinion, but it definitley must be done right. Great post love :).

I don't usually gravitate towards purple, but I love these inspiration photos! Especially a lavender couch. Yes please!

Black is my fav color but purple is right on it's heels. I'm that girl who shys away from anything pink, I mean I like it sometimes. I'm the type I always said if I ever have kids, and have a girl, I'm going to request minimal pink at the shower and hope I get a lot of purple LOL. It's just a beautiful color and I've done posts about it several times. The lacquered walls and shelving on one of the recent Elle Decor's covers gave me visualgasms.
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely mention. You are very sweet : ) I'm so happy my illustration will sit in your home!
I love a touch of violet in Autumn and Winter especially...lavender plants in pots are my favourite. So warming and earthy. Violet is such a homely hue - the red/blue, so settling.
The lighter the tint, the better I think.
Thanks again, Jessica : )

LOVE LOVE the deep plum!! Great photos:)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my blog and following....I'm following yours now on bloglovin too:)
I never saw purple looking so sophisicated-that first picture looks regal. I think it will look so good with gray and white in a little girl's room! I bet your daughter will love it. Ya know, now that you mention it, I don't think I have one single purple item in my apartment. Well, I definitely make up for that with plenty of pink!
ReplyDeleteWow this looks incredibly chic.
ReplyDeleteLoving it.
Hope you are enjoying your week.

ReplyDeletei wish i was daring enough to pull it off!
My living room is a deep eggplant - Benjamin Moore's Cabernet. This room gets a lot of natural light and is large so it's a great color and my white woodwork pops!
ReplyDeleteDo you have pics posted anywhere? I'd love to see it!!
